Da GoNintendo.Talk about having absolutely no class. Phil Fish is the creative force behind Fez, a title releasing later this year. Mr. Fish was in attendance at GDC to check out Indie Game: The Movie, which screened last night. Fish also happens to be featured prominently in the film.
After the film was over, an unidentified Japanese developer took the mic during a Q&A to state that he loved the feature. After that statement, he asked Mr. Fish for his opinion on the Japanese game industry.
Fish decided to take a rather rude stance by telling this man, "Your games just suck," which was his lead-off into a rant on the Japanese game industry. Later on Twitter, Fish commented on the situation again by saying, "im sorry japanese guy! i was a bit rough, but your country's games are f------ terrible nowadays."
I have absolutely no problem with Mr. Fish sharing his open/honest opinion on the Japanese game industry. The issue I take is with the lack of respect that Fish shows in his commentary. Show a little respect for the developers around you. There's more than one way to express your opinion without coming across as a bratty kid.

When you're dead, they really fix you up. I hope to hell when I do die somebody has sense enough to just dump me in the river or something. Anything except sticking me in a goddam cemetery. People coming and putting a bunch of flowers on your stomach on Sunday, and all that crap. Who wants flowers when you're dead? Nobody.
